If you have not experienced air frying, now is the time to try it. Just remember these helpful tips before you start:
- Leave space for air to circulate around the food! Overcrowded will not be as crispy and will take longer to cook.
- Grease your basket or container to help prevent sticking.
- Stick with average bite-sized cuts or larger. Foods that are cut too small can easily burn.
- Dry battered foods as much as possible for crispier results!
- Yes, you can also air fry your left overs to revitalize them, even pizza!
- Every air fryer is a little different so with each recipe you will need to perfect the cook time that works best for your particular air fryer.
- French Fries! That's right, everyone's favorite and this will save on that traditional deep fryer cooking oil expense. Cut one potato into long 1/4 inch slices, rinse the slices and pat them dry. Toss slices in 1 teaspoon olive oil and sprinkle with pepper. Place in single layer in air fryer set at 380 degrees for 14-16 minutes. Turn them at least 1 time during the cook time. When done salt to taste and enjoy!
- Bacon Wrapped Shrimp! It's quick, it's easy! Just wrap your shrimp in bacon and chill them. Once chilled, coat them in a mixture of 1/4 cup brown sugar mixed with 1 teaspoon of each of the following: regular or smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder. Place in air fryer in single layer. Cook 5 minutes at 195 degrees!
- Air Fry Chicken Wings! Start with 2 lbs. of chicken wings split at the joint with tips removed. Spray air fryer with nonstick spray. Pat chicken wings dry, sprinkle with salt, and place in single layer in air fryer so they are not touching. Cook at 360 degrees for 12 minutes. Flip and cook 12 minutes more. Increase to 390 degrees and cook 4-6 minutes more until crisp. Melt 4 tablespoons unsalted butter and mix it with 1/2 cup of your favorite hot sauce (example Frank's Red Hot). Toss the wings in this and enjoy!
- Stuffed Mushrooms! Another quick and easy one! Mix your favorite cheeses with salt, pepper, and spice of choice. Toss you mushroom caps in 2 tablespoons olive oil. Stuff theme and press the stuffing to secure. Dip them in bread crumbs. Place in air fryer in single layer. Air Fry at 360 degrees for approximately 10 minutes until sizzling and browned on top. Yum, ready to eat!
- Meatballs! One person said she makes her favorite Swedish meatball recipe. Rolls them into small bite size balls and cooks them in a single layer for only 10 minutes at 360 Degrees! She said if you don't have a favorite recipe, there are lots of meatball recipes you can choose from online.
- Bacon Wrapped Scallops! You only need 16 large sea scallops, 8 slices of bacon cut in 1/2, and brown sugar for this one. Slice bacon in half, partially cook in air fryer for 3 minutes at 400 degrees. Pat the scallops dry with paper towel and wrap each scallop in 1/2 slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick. Place scallops in air fryer and generously sprinkle with brown sugar. Cook at 400 for 5 minutes. Turn scallops delicately and sprinkle again with brown sugar. Cook another 5 minutes at 400 until scallop is tender and opaque and bacon is cook through. Serve hot!
