But if you think sales are the most important thing to Mark,
you’re wrong. Since he was a young man working for the company founded by his
father, Jeff Lynch, every decision Mark has made has been guided by a deep and abiding
Christian faith and a desire to be a good steward of all his blessings.
Jeff Lynch Appliances, Electronics, Bedding, and Furniture was
founded in 1951. When Mark was in his mid-twenties, he had an experience that forever
changed him.
“I was having a ‘God moment’ at the end of the workday,”
he explains. “My father had given me a picture of a
businessman with Jesus, and while looking at it, I hit my knees to pray.
Suddenly, I had an overwhelming notion that I don’t own anything, that nothing
belongs to me, not my family, not things, nothing. What I realized is that God
owns everything, and I developed a conviction to practice good stewardship of
all my blessings”
To that end, Mark begins each day with the Prayer of Jabez, found in 1 Corinthians.
community.
